Read this amazing "sweet story" from #NHDems16 (maybe shedding a few tears): (HRC GRP)

Excited to attend the ‪#?NHDems16‬ convention. Had to get up wicked early, and I owe many thanks to Carol for getting up early to come over and take care of Mom.

I was excited to get to the convention floor and get us seats in the second row. Melanie, Gale, Margaret, and Robert and I were all set to have a great time.

Then Caitlin comes to get me, and says she needs me to follow her, and hurry! What's all this?
Then she tells me we are going to have a meet & greet with Hillary Clinton!...

So, she was running late, and maybe all we would get is a quick hi and a group photo. No, not this candidate, she wanted to shake all our hands and talk to us.

I'm not usually the one who asserts himself, but when Secretary Clinton came to shake my hand, I held it for a moment and thanked her for speaking out about support for caregivers. She has been LISTENING to people, and she has spoken about this issue a couple of times already.

So, I waded right in. I told her of the challenge of taking care of Mom, keeping her safe, and working part time to be able to be with her.

Then I told her that, in order to keep Mom safe, I take her to work with me. Her compassion and sympathy was amazing, and she welled up with tears. That, of course, got me going.

She wasn't just listening. As I explained the challenges of caring for Mom, Secretary Clinton was actually finishing my thoughts. She was right there with me.

I saw her speak with others just as intently. All this, less than half an hour before she gave the most important speech of the campaign so far....

The crowd roared as Secretary Clinton was introduced, and she gave one of the best speeches I have heard. Then amazingly, she reached the part of the speech where she quietly talks about the challenges facing ordinary Americans, and there, right on the spot, she adjusts her speech to include me!

If you see a clip from the speech where she says she just met with a young man backstage who had to take a part time job to allow him to care for his mother, that's me. (And she called me a YOUNG man. That will win my vote all over again!)

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. If Hillary Clinton weren't already my candidate, she would be now.

What a great experience. I got to see HRC speak in person at a campaign event in 2008 and she was amazing. People who call her cold and calculating are either GOP operatives or just plain ignorant. She is just an incredible force in person. The GOP fear her to their core.

I am so happy for you and a little jealous, too. Well done!

desire to lower the age for Medicare from 65 to 58 or 60 for those who must quit work or go part time in order to take care of a parent. She often spoke about the challenge of seniors caring for older family members. My guess is that plan is still in her head and she will begin to talk about this more frequently. She knows these issues frontward and backwards. That is who she is.
