Clinton: Trump response to Muslim remark 'appalling.' (HILLARY GROUP)

Durham, N.H. — Earlier this week, Hillary Clinton admitted she found Donald Trump's presidential campaign entertaining. But Friday morning she said she found it "appalling" that the Republican frontrunner failed to correct a questioner who asserted that President Barack Obama is a Muslim and not American. Clinton said someone like that would never even show up at one of her events -- but she stopped short of calling the assertion about Obama racist.

“I was appalled,” Clinton said of Trump’s response to the anti-Muslim questioner at his New Hampshire town hall Thursday night. “He knew, or he should have known, that what that man was asking was not only way out of bounds, it was untrue. He should have from the beginning repudiated that kind of rhetoric, that level of hatefulness.”

Trump's response to the question Thursday night has drawn rebuke from Democrats and Republicans like presidential rival Lindsey Graham, who has called for an apology.

"We have a problem in this country, it’s called Muslims," the questioner said to Trump Thursday night. "Our current president is one. We know he’s not even an American. We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question, when can we get rid of them?”

Trump did not correct the assertion about Obama’s nationality. “A lot of people are saying that and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We’re going to be looking at that and a lot of different things,” Trump responded.

Clinton told reporters during a brief Q&A, following her own town hall at the University of New Hampshire, that she would have responded differently.

“I don’t think that person would come to my event, if that person had been at my event I would have called him out on it,” she said. “I would have said, at the very beginning, that has no place in a political discussion like the one we’re trying to have here. Not only is it out of place and wrong, it is totally factually untrue.”...

Not FEMA camps except for use after an emergency such as Katrina and he needs to get better sources of information. The RW nut jobs needs some guidance back to the real world.

Hillary Clinton got visibly fired up today when asked about Donald Trump and the birthers. Clinton demanded that Republicans stop impugning the integrity of President Obama.

Former Sec.Clinton called on Trump and all the Republican candidates to start behaving like presidents by standing up for the truth.

Clinton said of Trump, “He knew or he should have known that what that man was asking was not only way out of bounds. It was untrue, and he should have from the beginning repudiated that kind of rhetoric. That level of hatefulness in a questioner, in an audience that he was appearing before. So I would call on him, and call on all of the candidates to stop this descent into the kind of hateful, mean-spirited, divisive rhetoric that we have seen too much of over the last months.”
