3. I joked with my wife that I was waiting for the "cackle"

I mean that in the most endearing way. And she did it almost immediately.

People who mocked her for her laugh can kiss my ass.

4. I agree that she was stellar last night, even in the midst of all the breaking news

Not to mention, she had every reason to be bitter, since she was the people's choice in 2016 - but she carried on with calm and class - even though she certainly knew what we were in for. She was my senator and I've always been proud of her.

5. She was very classy.

She always is, of course, but she even resisted the urge to do a little celebrating. She clearly sees the big picture - Trump has been such a catastrophic influence on our society that it kind of overwhelms the satisfaction of seeing him crash-and-burn.

And, of course, she saw so much of this coming.

6. Exactly, she knows that it will take the country years to recover.

Which is nothing to celebrate - and it's not over yet.
