....Last year, (Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour) publicly stated her support of Ms. Clinton at the opening of the Oscar de la Renta exhibit (which took place at the Clinton Presidential Center). Whats more, she declared in her speech, All of us at Vogue look forward to putting on the cover the first female president of the United States....
Ms. Clinton has no choice but to endure her heightened scrutiny and take it in her stride. She must strike a tricky balance between being dismissed as vain yet looking polished enough to be taken seriously. According to (stylist Jen) Rade, taking ownership of the pantsuit allows Ms. Clinton to move beyond the outfit chatter and address other issues. In addition to wearing iconic American designers such as Ralph Lauren, Ms. Clinton is a loyal client of inside-the-beltway designer Nina McLemore, well known among politicians and CEOs. Ms. Clintons Ralph Lauren suit from June cost $1,400, and according to the Nina McLemore website, her sets range from $900-$1,500. (2,593 posts)I have been hesitant to comment on such a superficial matter as I primarily appreciate Hillary for her intellect, strength and policy positions. However, being the same age as Hillary Clinton and knowing the difficulty of finding age appropriate and yet complimentary clothing and hair styles, I think she has struck the perfect balance.
Just an observation. I hope none will feel that appreciating her confident style and grace takes anything away from my opinion of her abilities as a leader. I think she's got the whole deal!
