http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/hillary-clinton-everytown-gun-safety-endorsement-223855Everytown for Gun Safety, a group funded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg to reduce gun violence, is set to deliver its first-ever presidential endorsement to Hillary Clinton on Friday, POLITICO has learned.
It's is the latest in a series of high-profile endorsements from individuals and organizations coming off the sidelines to back the Democratic frontrunner in the days ahead of the final group of primaries on June 7. Many of the late-breaking endorsers are citing the need for party unity against Donald Trump as the impetus for weighing in now.
Feinblatt, president of Everytown, which touts 3.5 million supporters, said in an interview. We wanted to hear from our supporters, we wanted to take their pulse to see what theyve been learning, and it became clear to us that it was our time to act.

(382 posts)... good progressives attack this Public Health crisis. I was buoyed by President Obama's firm commitment to back candidates for gun control and ignore (or worse) those opposed to it.
The gun culture has gotten out of control, mirroring, seemingly, the tea party craziness. This is the election we can do something about both.
Great endorsement!

(2,593 posts)I will never forget the devastation of Sandy Hook and my utter disbelief that Congress refused to pass reforms in response to that atrocity.
I'm with President Obama. I will not vote for anyone who does not support meaningful reform with regard to guns.
