Sanders: DNC vetoed union leader pick for platform committeeHis supporters claiming that Democratic Party don't care about the labor movement.
Let's get some facts straight.
Paul Booth is a member of the Platform committee. He is the executive assistant to the President at AFSCME. Which in the hierarchy is high. That makes him one of 15 on the Platform committee. OR 6.6% of the committee.
Labor union members or those connected to labor union represent 8% of the unpledged delegates. There are about 60 labor union members. The four congressional members on the committee are also strong supporters of labor unions.
Congressman Elijah Cummings
Hon. Howard Berman
Paul Booth
Hon. Carol Browner
Rep. Keith Ellison
Rep. Luis Gutiérrez
Rep. Barbara Lee
Bill McKibben
Deborah Parker
State Rep. Alicia Reece
Bonnie Schaefer
Ambassador Wendy Sherman
Neera Tanden
Cornel West
James Zogby
10 of the above are not even unpledged delegates.
Sanders is always looking for a reason to criticize the DNC.

(44,173 posts)7. This is a very left of center committee overall
Yes there are one or two members who are DLCish, and a few who have corporatist views on a few issues, but overall this is a committee that is well to the left of the Democrats in Congress.
Many concessions have already been made to Sanders, but he just pockets the concessions and demands more and more.
