Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumClinton Lead Over Trump Would Grow Without Sanders in The Race
That is obvious to most of us here, and I think it would be much larger than the article I am going to post indicates.
"The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows Hillary Clinton with a narrow three-point lead over Donald Trump, 46 percent to 43 percent. But if Bernie Sanders were out of the race the NBC News political unit estimates her lead would likely be much larger, perhaps up around eight points, 51 percent to 43 percent."
"The difference in those two scenarios is one kind of voter that pops in many polls: The Sanders-only supporter."
"The latest set of presidential polls shows two very different races - the tight three-point battle between Clinton and Trump, and a much larger lead for Sanders over Trump. The NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll had Sanders with a whopping 15 point lead over the presumptive GOP nominee, 54 percent to 39 percent.
Of course, the real meaning of those differences is hard to determine. At this point the odds of Sanders-Trump election in November are steep. Clinton is on the verge of capturing the Democratic nomination - she needs fewer 80 delegates to reach the 2,383 required to win.
Could Clinton win those Sanders-only supporters if she becomes the nominee? Maybe not all of them, but a good deal of the current hard feelings have come from the protracted fight for the Democratic nod."

(25,471 posts)Some Sanders supporters are undoubtedly voting Trump in these polls because the primaries are still going on.
The polls will be more relevant after June 7th and after Sanders concedes.
Once Clinton has the nomination, some Bernie or Busters should no longer be considered "likely voters" for November. Their influence in these polls should diminish. Some won't vote and some will look at the possibility of President Donald Trump and reconsider.

(3,739 posts)the past week and I have noticed a trend in the other threads that have always been totally pro-Bernie AND totally anti-Hillary. There are more Pro-Hillary posts there lately and also when I take note of the names of the "Bernie or Bust" posters, often it is only one, two or three people posting over and over again. True, they are very nasty, but there are not anywhere near as many of them as I always assumed there were. I am still disgusted by the number of stupid right wing articles posted on the "latest" and/or "greatest" thread section, but in the comments for the threads, I do feel like it is getting a little bit better. I had my doubts if this website would be cleaned up after the primaries, but now I actually think it will be and it isn't going to take long either.

(3,284 posts)it's a little puzzling to me. Are they forgetting all the minorities and women who can't stand his guts? I think Trump believes he can win because he's a deluded narcissist, but what's everyone else's excuse?
In a way, I'm glad that the media is going to make it a horse race. I don't want anyone to get complacent and think they won't need to vote we need everyone to vote so we can win in a landslide, and take down-ballot seats, too.

(24,576 posts)We certainly see many irrational BS supporters who say they will never vote for Hillary, but I think the majority care too much about the country to turn it over to Trump.
