Sanders Candidacy Devolving into an Arrogant Insufferable Self-serving Disaster

Sanders Candidacy Devolving into an Arrogant Insufferable Self-serving Disaster
Peter D. Rosenstein non-profit consultant, public speaker and political activist

Many including me have consistently given Bernie Sanders the credit for fighting for what he believes in and suggesting he should decide on his own when to leave the race. We gave him credit for beginning his campaign with grace and purpose as I did in a recent column. Unfortunately he is choosing to end it as a boor more concerned with boosting his own ego than with moving forward the issues he espoused.

Bernie if Donald Trump wins and gets to appoint a Supreme Court Justice and negates all the progress Barack Obama has fought for in the past eight years, you become the 2016 Ralph Nader. The same Nader who now at age 84 walks around Dupont Circle in Washington, DC with his head down afraid people will recognize him and say “Thanks Ralph for electing George W. Bush.” You don’t want to be that person in a couple of years with people saying ‘Thanks Bernie for electing Donald Trump. “

and I cannot recall another instance where people sympathetic to a candidate have turned on that candidate and expressed the kind of concern about and disgust for a candidate as we are seeing directed at Sanders these days.

the Sanders followers are elated when he regurgitates his stump speech. All they need hear are the same old tired bromides they've heard on TV. The excitement is that they're now part of the crowd at a rally.

"He said the system is rigged, just like on TV!"

Was the plan all along to destroy the party and its candidate if he couldn't get the nod?

What a POS if that's true. He could have been a real power in the party but he made himself a pariah instead. Weird.

in losing campaigns. Look at his past history with the obvious contempt with which he holds both parties. So, I'm thinking temper tantrum in the form of if you don't give me what I want, I'll destroy it.

Reading what he said about Kunin and his other female opponents, there's no other way to slice it than to assume that he ahs a huge problem losing to women.

When they released that video of him arriving at the Vatican conference (or whatever it was), and they were introducing him to the people there, he refused to shake the hand of the woman. Well, it was more like, he gave her the cold shoulder. When she extended her hand, he turned the other way and shook another man's hand. Later, I learned that this was the woman that had corrected the media, when Sanders campaign incorrectly stated that they'd been personally invited by the Pope to meet him.

What he soon found out even with his big rallies is most people who vote in Democratic primaries want a candidate who is versed in a much broader spectrum of issues. They understand the President of the United States is also the leader of the free world and must speak to a broader audience here and around the world. Very left-leaning Democratic primary voters alone can’t elect a candidate in the general election. Those who understood that voted for Hillary Clinton which is why she has over 3 million more votes than he does.

Yep, pretty much and aha!
