... but actually, no. I never had the feeling of being mortal enemies with anyone here, even in the most heated days of 2008. I always felt we were on the same side - we just differed in our opinions as to who our Party's standard-bearer should be.

It's different now. I feel like I am constantly arguing with people who are not on the side of the Party at all - people who have a completely different agenda than seeing another Democrat in the WH.

We were at odds with each other in 2008 - and yet united by a common purpose throughout.

It's not like that now. Sadly so.

i debated using the phrase and did mainly to underline the double take i do in my head. I find it more amusing than anything else. And yes you're right - i only had 2 or 3 people (ok, 4 ) that I felt locked in combat with.

Let's hope that once it is clear that she will be the nominee, the rancor will begin to subside.

the same group of people who - and this comes as no surprise to me - have chosen the opponent of our nominee of 2008 and again in 2016, but have had nothing but enraged criticism of our President in 2012. Then again, I'm a diehard Democrat.

Although I did have a look-in for time to time. I don't think this cycle has been as bad as 2008 or 2004 even if it has gone of for a long time. 2004 was intense but shorter - due to how the delegates where allocated.

With the way delegates are allocated on a proportional basis I think these long contests will most likely be the norm
