(14,537 posts)We only count SD if they are for Bernie.
I went round and round with a Bernie supporter a week or so ago about the math. Hillary could not win the nomination with 50+1 pledged delegates, but Bernie could.
How was this math figured out? Bernie could win the nom with pledged delegates 50+1 of the but Hillary needs 2383 pledged delegates to win. Seriously that is the math. Hillary needs more PD than Bernie. If Hillary does not get 2383 of the PD, the SD should vote for Bernie. because clearly if she doesn't win them, the voters have spoken and want Bernie.
When you hear the Bernie math, remember Clinton needs 2383 PDs to win and Bernie only needs 2026.
At that point Clinton only needed about 35% of the remaining vote to get 50+1 and Bernie need 65% of the remaining vote to get the 50+1of the PD.
