(521 posts)It's not like Sanders has a real chance of overtaking Hillary in pledged delegates or come even close. Everyone and their mother knows that Hillary will be the nominee at this point.
stopbush
(24,396 posts)If they had wanted to help Sanders, they should have committed to him long ago, rather than have him limping along with under 50 supers.
My best guess is they'll just fall in line behind Hillary at the convention. They could be from red states and they don't want to give any ammo to Rs that they supported the evil Clintons.

(373 posts)Even though Hillary's well ahead in the popular vote and in pledged delegates, if all the uncommitted supers backed her today the Sanders supporters would be screaming bloody murder. And then there's the abuse many Clinton-supporting superdelegates are receiving as well.
As much as we all want this to end now, I don't blame the uncommitteds for holding out until June, then backing her en masse after the final primaries (or at least California).

I hope Sen Sanders knows only reason he polls better against Trump is that the opposition have not started in on him yet. #InWithHer

(67,782 posts)....from Sanders to Clinton. She's up four, he's down one.
Methinks that Democrats are getting fed up with the lunacy of the last week.

(92,233 posts)wouldn't doubt it.
Sanders has overplayed his hand, and now that people are seeing the ugliness coming him and his supporters, that will only increase against him.
Even here at DU. There were quite a few Hillary supporters at the beginning of the process that had a very good view of Sanders. He has pretty much destroyed that

(15,222 posts)I've always supported Hillary.
But I tried hard to refrain from disparaging Bernie because I felt like he had something to offer to the overall platform. I never considered actually voting for him, but I felt he was bringing some important topics to the discussion table.
But after he failed to unequivocally denounce the bull that happened in Nevada, my view completely changed. He wants chaos, and chaos does no one any good. He knew the rules before he decided to run on the Democratic side, and then he whines when he can't play by the rules. Wants to change everything to his benefit.
It is time for him to get out, get on board behind Hillary, and try and salvage what little there is left of his dignity.

(67,782 posts)....I sincerely think he's getting advice, bad advice, from those around him - Jane, Tad, and Jeff.

(15,222 posts)Deep down, I think Bernie probably is a little ashamed of how this campaign has devolved.
But the mark of a good leader (i.e., someone who wants to be President of the United States) is the ability to take advice from all sides and then make the hard decisions himself/herself. Perhaps if he is getting the bad advice and hasn't yet put his foot down, that's indicative of how much of a leader he really would not be, too.
