Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWhat's up with all the "You'll-Be-Sorry-y-y" and "Don't-Blame-Me" themed messages in GDP?
That appears to be a common theme recently. There are several variations in the wording and tone ... some appear to be spontaneous quips, others are lengthy diatribes.
Often it's the same posters repeatedly warning us about the "doom" that's about to befall our country and how they'll never vote for Hillary ... others are more reflective and affirm that they'll just hold their nose and vote for Hillary as a vote against Trump.
So, my fellow Hillary Group members ... what do you make of this?
Is it a sign that these people (and perhaps others) are becoming resigned to the reality that Hillary will be our nominee? OR ... is it a last-ditch effort to frighten everyone into voting for Bernie and make him the nominee?

(25,471 posts)As for your question, I think reality is slowly creeping in and they're not ready to cope. They may never be. A lot of that is their candidate's fault.

(27,815 posts)They've led themselves to believe that behind every vote for Bernie, there is a rabid revolutionary who will sit out the election, vote Trump, or write-in Bernie's name.
The BS supporters I know in RL have never seen his campaign as a "revolution" or a "movement". They simply voted their preference in the primary, and will vote for the (D) in November.

(27,815 posts)... that Bernie is dead in the water, and has been for months.
But because they have predicted doom all along if their great saviour isn't elected, they can't let go of the meme.
My prediction: HRC will be the next POTUS - and we'll have eight years of hearing about how much better Bernie would have been, and how everyone would have single-payer healthcare and a free college education if only we'd elected BS instead.

(44,173 posts)I was big for Wes Clark in 2004. He got in the race too late and he just never got traction. But I had no personal animus against John Kerry.
And for many many downballot races, I have voted for the candidate who I was certain was the best nominee the party could put forward. My fellow Democrats disagreed and outvoted me. Sometimes I was frustrated or disappointed or certain that he/she would lose, but I always cast my ballot for the nominee. It would take A LOT to get me to abstain, and even Bernie has not crossed that line with me yet. I will still say today that I'd vote for him if he won the nomination, in spite of a lot of reservations I have about his prospects for winning.
Primaries are hard, and you are going to win some and lose some. But this is a team sport.
