Does Bernie Sanders want to be the Ralph Nader of 2016?

Does Bernie Sanders want to be the Ralph Nader of 2016?
By Dana Milbank Opinion writer May 17 at 5:11 PM

Let’s examine what Bernie Sanders supporters did in his name over the weekend.

As the Nevada Democratic convention voted to award a majority of delegates to Hillary Clinton — an accurate reflection of her victory in the state’s February caucuses — Sanders backers charged the stage, threw chairs and shouted vulgar epithets at speakers. Security agents had to protect the dais and ultimately clear the room.

Sanders supporters publicized the cellphone number of the party chairwoman, Roberta Lange, resulting in thousands of abusive text messages and threats:

“Praying to God someone shoots you in the FACE and blows your democracy-stealing head off!”

“Hey bitch.?.?. We know where you live. Where you work. Where you eat. Where your kids go to school/grandkids.?.?. Prepare for hell.”

It is no longer accurate to say Sanders is campaigning against Clinton, who has essentially locked up the nomination. The Vermont socialist is now running against the Democratic Party. And that’s excellent news for one Donald J. Trump.

is willing to change his rhetoric and we already knows he fails at leadership as he allows his zealots to run wild and free will offering meek responses and offering no accountability or responsibility for fanning the flames......

I am afraid the true nature of sanders is being reveled as angry socialist willing to destroy america because of his gigantic EGO

his legacy may be lasting or all the wrong reasons

3. Nader had devolved into someone who just wanted attention, the rest of us be damned.

So, I guess the answer is yes.

The difference is that when all is said and done, I think the primaries are going to mostly fade away by the time November rolls around, and Sanders won't have the chance to be a Nader. The public will have had a few months to contemplate the possibility of President Donald Trump by then, and I don't think Sanders will be much more than an afterthought.

The ironic thing is that if he truly wants to be a voice and to help affect change, by far his best option would be to support Hillary wholeheartedly and work his ass off to get a bunch of Democrats elected. He's shown no signs of having any intention of doing either.

. . .he has repeatedly said that if Hillary wins the nomination, he will support her in the general election.

His "followers"?? - well, that's a whole 'nother story, and the onus is on them; not Sanders, to prove they truly support him by complying with his statement of support for the eventual Democratic nominee.
