Sanders Supporter & Candidate for Congress in NV CONDEMNS Actions of His Supporters

There's been some dispute from Sanders people about what happened at the convention, as to whether or not they really did behave as outlandishly as is being reported by some online - including this authoer. That said, Candidate Flores released the statement below on the actions of Sanders Supporters on Saturday (5/14/2016):

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 16, 2016 Contact: 702-437-0587 | info@lucyflores.com

STATEMENT ON NEVADA DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION

LAS VEGAS, NV –“I understand and share the frustration that many progressives in Nevada feel, but there were actions over the weekend and at the Democratic convention that very clearly crossed the line. Progressives need to speak out against those: making threats against someone’s life, defacing private property, and hurling vulgar language at our female leaders. Regardless of whether you agree with the leadership of our Chairwoman Roberta Lange, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do her actions warrant being harassed, insulted with misogynistic vulgarities and or threatened in any way.

It is my hope and desire that all Democrats keep the bigger goal in mind – achieving a progressive agenda that puts working families first. The only way we will achieve this is by getting involved and putting progressive Democrats in office and in leadership. The other part of this is holding those leaders accountable to a progressive agenda once they are elected. Ultimately, we the people can take back our democracy but we have to stay committed and focused.

PS:
If you're on Twitter, please show her some love. I like her backstory and was considering not voting for her on the basis of her support for Bernie, but this action on my part has me thinking differently. It's fucking gutsy as hell. I like her a lot. I love strong women and this is a sign of a fighter. That's great!

But, what is that I hear? Is it the sound of a diesel engine warming up? Could it be THE bus?

Let no good deed go unpunished by the Sanders brigade.

The little bird was never really into Bernie, and the pope has a hands-off approach.

So it looks like it's every narcissist for himself at this point.

Support for progressive issues require building the party with elected officials that support it in the House and Senate. And he likely believes also in the state legislator. Not focusing mainly on putting someone in the White House.

The vocal Sanders' people don't understand that. They can make the President stronger by electing the right people in Congress.

There was another account from a Clinton delegate on the same medium site. This woman had a 4 page story from the start of convention to the last from 9 am to 11 pm. Very informative. She doesn't go into it all blame rather she tries to undetstand the source of the confusion. Her name is Mama Jean and her post starts that she was a delegate... I tried to get the link but couldn't get it. She attempts to explain the confusion that Sanders supporters had. One of the confusions seem to be those 23 state wide district delegates. Apparently Sanders thoughtbthat these delegates were porportioned at the state but they were locked from the Febuary caucaus. You should read it

Or something. Or is it only Hillary's women? (I guess the twitter response pretty much answers my question. Sigh.)

Bravo to Ms. Flores. As I noted in another thread, I think there are many more of her and other reasonable Sanders supporters than there are the DU variety. I hope so, anyway.

Note: to any overzealous DUers thinking of knee-jerk altering my post thinking it's false, sadly, it is accurate. Here's the source:

Perhaps she should reconsider her support of a candidate who seems to attract such disgustingly volatile and dangerous people, a candidate who finds such actions to be perfectly acceptable behavior.
