Anyone can create a MoveOn petition. It won't do much good other than as way to express frustration or to ridicule an opponent, and to make "online warriors" and poll-clickers (who are otherwise NOT politically active in a meaningful way) feel as though they're actually doing something useful.

Note: MoveOn Political Action does not necessarily endorse the contents of petitions posted on this site. MoveOn Petitions is an open tool that anyone can use to post a petition advocating any point of view, so long as the petition does not violate our terms of service.

For myself I would release my delegates to Hillary and bring unity to the convention. We sure do not need a Trump for president.

Online, I'm noting that he's got fewer and fewer ardent supporters remaining, and the neutral ones are turning against him.

If the result of this contest is that America learns what Bernie really is, that's only fitting tribute to his "career."

30. The process HAS run its course
Sun May 15, 2016, 12:45 AM
May 2016

The process has already played itself out. Sanders has lost. He has no chance of winning the nomination, and I don't think he'll have any influence on the campaign or on anything else in the future.

He's been indulging himself in reliving the glory days of his youth, when he was a radical speechmaker in college, listened to and applauded by other college students just like him. He had been ignored since those days, but now he's able to jet around the country and talk to crowds of college students just like those of long ago. They applaud him, they adore him, and he basks in it. Once Clinton has the nomination and Sanders fades from the scene, so will all the applause and adulation. It will be as if it had never been. He can't let go of it. But the country can't afford his protracted late-adolescence self-indulgence. It has reached the point where it's potentially damaging to our political future.
