Such class...and I never was truly against Obama during the primaries, just thought she had the better experience.

I wasn't here then. Never saw this madness.

Had Hill won then, I would have turned around and supported her in a NY minute.

The transition was a piece of cake. His supporters were not jerks and more importantly he was a dynamic candidate. It was hard to choose between he and Hillary to be honest. So the turnover was easy.

Turned out to be one of the greatest presidents in my lifetime, good choice Democrats!

Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat I would have a very hard time voting for him.

His supporters with rare exception are /redacted/ I don't want to have these people in power

Honestly.....oh I bitter not say ( pun )

Support to Obama or not I would still have voted for the DNC nominee. If Sanders would have been the nominee I would support him. Now given the added information of Trump being the presumptive GOP nominee, I know my vote would be the DNC nominee.

I was fine.

It was rough. I had to look past all the 'noise' and really take a closer look at Obama. After that it was all good.

it actually happens.. so I was ecstatic!

I can certainly see how people were concerned though.. uncharted waters~

Cannot wait for him to be out there campaigning his heart out for her like she did for him in 2008.

Both high class people.

Side note.. Then Senator Obama campaigned for BS in 2006... and Hillary's PAC gave BS $10, 000..

When she supported him so wholeheartedly, that helped, but geez... the choice was Obama/Biden or McCain/Palin. I couldn't possibly vote for McCain and couldn't take the risk of letting Sarah Palin be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. I was absolutely thrilled when he won the GE.

I found that reading the positive things about him rather than all the negatives, helped me a lot.

18. Her magnificent concession speech left me in tears

Actually, as she entered the state I "told" her - don't cry. And she did not. Senator Schumer gave her a bear hug and it was clear he meant it.

But then we had the convention and it was clear that we had to win these elections. So I while I did not embrace Obama, I did, of course, voted for him, even made a small donation.

And, yes, the nastiness on these pages was as bad as it is now that for a while I was thinking of just staying home on election day.

Even today, it bothers me that African Americans had no problem saying they supported Obama because he is black, while women fell over themselves to say that, yes, they are women, but were not supporting Hillary.

Funny, she was not my first choice in 2008 but then I had a chance to hear her speak and I was amazed at the clarity and the precise way she delivered her ideas.

strongly in 2008. Did phone banking, GOTV, etc. I was VERY disappointed; not because I disliked Obama but because I liked her so much...I thought she would be a great president. I cried at her concession speech; I have a feeling I wasn't alone. But that concession speech went a LONG way, as it was meant to do, to help me and others like me to support Obama. And now, although I very much look forward to her formally accepting the nomination and to her inauguration, I still will miss Obama. He is one of the great presidents, and the woman who follows him will be also.

She had class. Real class. The kind that can't be faked. I am SO glad she is going to be our next president.

I still felt she was the better candidate -- and I still do -- but I didn't have any problem transitioning to support Obama wholeheartedly. As others have said on this thread, her concession speech helped a great deal.

But, I gained new respect for HRC, first when I heard her great concession speech, and then especially when she called for Obama's nomination by acclamation in Denver. Momentous time!

I finally opted for Clinton in the primaries simply because I felt that I could not in good conscience NOT vote for a woman candidate with her qualifications and such a long and effective history of working with and for vulnerable people. Obama's age and political experience were also factors in my decision. I thought that he needed a bit more "seasoning" in the DC political morass.

But when he won the primaries, I embraced his candidacy enthusiastically, especially because I never have liked McCain. But the exact moment that I fully jumped in wholeheartedly, completely and without any reservation whatsoever was right after Sarah Palin spoke at the GOP Convention.

I knew that there was no way whatsoever that such a person should be ANYWHERE near the WH. EVER.

I feel that way about Trump as well.

Also, Obama and Clinton were, as most Democrats are, very close on many issues, so it's not as if I was being asked to back a candidate that didn't also stand for most of what I'd supported Clinton over.

I'm a liberal Democrat, so uniting for the sake of the party is not difficult for me. I'm proud to have gotten to vote for Obama, even if it meant Clinton losing in 2008.

In many ways, she used that setback to continue learning the ins and outs of government diplomacy, after previously learning the ins and outs of both domestic policy and working on legislation. That's why I'm glad to continue supporting Clinton even now.

I thought Obama would get creamed with the "Youth and Inexperience" charge. They were both great candidates--it always seems like the pickings on our side is better than the pickings over on the right!

I think expecting the diehard Sanders enthusiasts here to pivot immediately will be a hard task. They'll have to just dial it back and process it for a bit. Eventually, they'll figure out how they want to deal with the reality of it all. If they can "get over it," we should welcome them. If they can't deal with being a Democrat, now's the time to sort all that out.

There's always DISCUSSIONIST for those who like an easy platform and who want to rail on the "PTB." A lot of the people who are "Busters" will continue to want to fight--they can fight over there with great abandon--it's like the Wild Wild West over that way!

hitched up my pants and got to work making phone calls to other Hillary supporters to get them on board for Pres. Obama. But I am a Democrat and I understand what will happen to this country with Donald Trump with a republican majority in both Houses and the Court will mean to the poor, children and the elderly in this country. Women will lose ALL of their reproductive rights for decades.

Bernie Sanders doesn't give a shit about what he is risking for his "pie in the sky" and neither do his supporters.
