Let's play Cut-n-Paste Comments!

I'll start. The comments following the TPM story about BS' letter to DWS (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/sanders-dnc-letter-convention-committees)
has a ton of first rate comments, but this one is interesting:

Oh, so a non-Democrat who has gone out of his way to insult the Democratic Party and its members now wants to bitch and moan how the DNC is stacking the convention committees with members who may be partial to a DEMOCRAT? Well, color me fucking surprised! Whoda thunkit?
Hey, Bernie or Birdie or Saint or whatever the fuck they are calling you now, maybe if you had joined the Democratic Party over 40 years ago like I did you might now be in a position to change it. As far as I am concerned, I wish they would tell you to go fuck yourself. I am so tired of your whining how mistreated you are when the DNC and the Democratic voters are not even obligated to give you the goddamned time of day. Here's a thought: perhaps you should have gone to the Republican Party and asked for their magnanimous largesse. I am so sure they would have embraced you with both arms. Or better yet, why didn't you and your supposed ginormous horde of supporters try to form a nationwide third-party of independents years ago? But why should you, when you can play the wounded martyr who has been persecuted by that villainous Democratic scourge!
Give me an address, Bernie, and I'll send you a box of Band-Aids to stem the bleeding from those crucifixion i

But my fave is this one:
"Senator, you can have my answer now if you like. My final answer is this: nothing."

Anyone else run across some gems lately?

DWS to Bernie: Your supporters will be given enough positions to be heard. So will Hillary's. I will fill the remainder of the slots with people who have worked in the Party for years, doing my best to see that the party's outside allies are suitably represented. That's how we do things around here. Changing the rules on the basis of one contender's view of his polls is no part of my duties. Nor is it part of my duty to enable you to tie things up in knots if you throw a tantrum because you are losing. So insist away. Unless you can convince a majority of the delegates, including the super delegates that is the way it will be.

You go, girl!

Show me a Sanders supporter who started out as a phone banker and door knocker, worked their way up to precinct captain, county chairperson, and eventually into the state party leadership. Then I'll say yeah, their hard work should maybe be honored with a spot at the convention.

I, honestly, had never heard of him. But, Damn ... reading this piece, the Sanders campaign should have gotten 4-square behind him ... and trotted him out before the African-American electorate. 9 years over a "largely Black city outside of Pittsburgh" ... it seems (unless he has horns and a tail ... which I doubt, because "9 years over a largely Black city outside of Pittsburgh&quot he would have been a far better surrogate than Killer Mike OR Dr. C. West.

I hadn't heard of him either, until this. Sanders is a lot of talk but when it comes to actually executing his ideas, he has a real problem following through. I heard him tonight on Maddow, saying that one thing he'd like to do as President is to be the first President to stand in a picket line. Really? Is that really his big goal as President? That's great, but it sounds like a photo opp more than anything else. I'd like to see our next President do more than stand in a picket line.

Does this man EVER stop complaining? He uses people, insults them and throws them to the dogs when they don't bow at his feet, refuses to even commit to the party if he isn't the nominee, provides the opposition with their key talking points, encourages his supporters to be as nasty as possible and then whines incessantly about how other people aren't being fair.

Bernie is extremely territorial about "his" positions. He doesn't want Hillary, or anybody else, running on them...their his, and only he can tout them. When he moved on the House after being mayor in Burlington, he not only refused to endorse any other candidate, including progressive independents, he got down right angry when asked about who he would endorse, telling one reporter to "Fuck Off"..a reporter from a progressive outlet, no less.

Well, there was the mayor in PA who was running for the Senate seat. He was the first public official to endorse Bernie. And for that great show of support he got...

daveyjones64

What's going on is Bernie was demanding way too much leverage and control at the convention for someone who, you know...actually lost. His intentions were to try and craft rules, lay out, and platform to be entirely his, and force Hillary to run as him. And he that idea got laughed out of the room.

When you are losing a campaign, but have hopes of influencing the party after your defeat, its generally a bad strategy to start pissing all over the party and the winner. Actions have consequences, though pretty much everything in Bernie's history indicates that he doesn't think they should be applied to him.

I cannot wait until BS gets his comeuppance.

Thank you, Texan

"Gracefully? What does THAT mean? Are you saying I'm not graceful? I'll sue you! Crown me! Admit your defeat and crown me right now!! Jane, come out here and shut these people up!"

If Bernie supporters really wants to support progressive policies they shouldn't have to be asked (or even begged) by Clinton supporters to vote down-ticket. They should want to vote for progressive candidates, or at least against right-wing candidates. If they don't get out and vote down-ticket, then they're just following Bernie the way you'd follow a celebrity movie-star or sports idol - not someone who really cares about building a progressive society. Stop blaming Hillary supporters for your own faults. And stop needing to have your ego stroked - the stakes are too high.

Sanders, while being interviewed by Maddow last night, went from claiming 45-48% of the elected delegates to 49-50% of the elected delegates. He thinks coming in second is suppose to give him a big payout. He's clueless how national conventions work.
