5. BS Reasons for swaying superdelegates:
Sun May 1, 2016, 03:26 PM
May 2016

Include:
1) The Will of the People! (by "People" he means white men)

2) Because people shouldn't buy elections! (unless they do it with many $27 donations)

3) the Pope's on Bernie's side! (At least, he shook his hand for a split-second in a dark hallway)

Hope I cleared that up!

He asks them to support him because he's winning polls like the Fox News one and he's "taking on the Democratic establishment." So...he's asking the Democratic establishment to support him because he's taking the Democratic establishment on? That just sounds idiotic to me.

racially insensitive. He's working harder to throw out the black votes that have overwhelmingly put Clinton in the lead than I ever thought a Democrat would. Sanders/Warren may be every white progressives dream ticket, but if Sanders get the nomination by way of the Super-delegates after losing in the pledged/popular vote race, he's not going to be able to appoint a white VP and expect voters of color to show up for him on election day.

Both Kasich and Cruz knew they were drawing media to their press conference because there was suspense over whether they would announce they were pulling out of the race. Sanders is doing the same thing. If he (and Cruz and Kadich) had been honest and announced what their press conference was really about, they wouldn't have gotten as much free media. In other words, it's a scam for publicity.

It would be interesting to see a protester question him directly on this incredible hypocrisy. I wonder how he'd handle that?

I found a quote of his from this conference today:

"It's a steep hill to climb," he admitted, at a press conference in Washington on Sunday. "But, at the end of the day the responsibility that superdelegates have is to decide what is best for the country and what is best for the Democratic party."
from this article: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/sanders-raises-26m-april-primary-bid-clinton-38797037

So he's saying that this small group of superdelegates should override the will of the voters??

16. An excerpt from that abc news story
Sun May 1, 2016, 05:41 PM

Hillary Clinton is 91 percent of the way to clinching the Democratic nomination, when including superdelegates. She leads in both pledged delegates by 1,645 to Sanders' 1,318, according to the Associated Press. It takes 2,383 to win.

Sanders would need to win more than 82 percent of the remaining delegates and uncommitted superdelegates through June if he hopes to clinch the nomination; currently, Sanders has been winning just 39 percent.

So far, no Clinton-backing superdelegates have flipped to Sanders, despite an aggressive lobbying campaign from his supporters.

I think Sanders has become addicted to the attention, and is falling back on arguments that are obviously flawed and which run counter to his original message and supposed principles.

It's not going to be possible for people to view Bernie Sanders the same way they used to after all of this is over. For many, the bloom is off the rose.
