I guess it is to much to hope he is going to concede...
Sam Stein just posted on Twitter that Sanders is making a plea to the Super delegates.... This should be interesting.

(3,284 posts)Include:
1) The Will of the People! (by "People" he means white men)
2) Because people shouldn't buy elections! (unless they do it with many $27 donations)
3) the Pope's on Bernie's side! (At least, he shook his hand for a split-second in a dark hallway)
Hope I cleared that up!

(2,897 posts)If Hillary would have done this in 2008, she would have been blacklisted by the media.

He needs to concede. Yesterday.

Sheesh!

(15,696 posts)He asks them to support him because he's winning polls like the Fox News one and he's "taking on the Democratic establishment." So...he's asking the Democratic establishment to support him because he's taking the Democratic establishment on? That just sounds idiotic to me.

(2,897 posts)racially insensitive. He's working harder to throw out the black votes that have overwhelmingly put Clinton in the lead than I ever thought a Democrat would. Sanders/Warren may be every white progressives dream ticket, but if Sanders get the nomination by way of the Super-delegates after losing in the pledged/popular vote race, he's not going to be able to appoint a white VP and expect voters of color to show up for him on election day.

(50,942 posts)And he can't expect minorities to vote for him when he has criticized Obama all through his two terms.

(51,564 posts)The dude just spent last night hobnobbing with the rich and famous, taking selfies and standing up begging for applause--oblivious to the fact that Obama was jabbing him, not complimenting him.

(15,696 posts)Also, I have to wonder if he really is aware of how devious his "press conference" speech was today, or is he unaware of what's real and just reading a teleprompter. Either way, it's not good.
SunSeeker
(51,564 posts)He touts his 9 million votes, but fails to mention Hillary has millions more than him. What he is asking the SDs to do is subvert the will of the people.

(24,135 posts)in a midterm - and these yahoos expect him to cater to 72,000 caucus voters - most newly registered Democrats.
They are out of their minds.

(15,696 posts)A grassroots campaign doesn't beg or intimidate the very people it's hoping to lead.
This whole "press conference" deal is really weird.

(51,564 posts)Both Kasich and Cruz knew they were drawing media to their press conference because there was suspense over whether they would announce they were pulling out of the race. Sanders is doing the same thing. If he (and Cruz and Kadich) had been honest and announced what their press conference was really about, they wouldn't have gotten as much free media. In other words, it's a scam for publicity.
Cha
(297,275 posts)they're not his $27 donors.
Boooom!

(297,275 posts)for awhile now.. why would he change now in his desperate, cornered mode.
It's unbecoming to beg with no basis in fact.

(50,942 posts)With charts and everything included. Berman probably has it broken down by districts and even down to the critical precinct level. Who are they going to believe? Berman who helped get Obama the delegates in 2008 and now doing it for Clinton?

(3,284 posts)It would be interesting to see a protester question him directly on this incredible hypocrisy. I wonder how he'd handle that?
I found a quote of his from this conference today:
So he's saying that this small group of superdelegates should override the will of the voters??
displacedtexan
(15,696 posts)Insulting.
sarae
(3,284 posts)I don't know how his supporters can argue that this isn't hypocritical - it's the very definition of hypocrisy. Even Moveon.org released a statement that they couldn't really stand behind it.

(15,696 posts)Sanders would need to win more than 82 percent of the remaining delegates and uncommitted superdelegates through June if he hopes to clinch the nomination; currently, Sanders has been winning just 39 percent.
So far, no Clinton-backing superdelegates have flipped to Sanders, despite an aggressive lobbying campaign from his supporters.
DemonGoddess
(4,640 posts)oh, you mean the threats of physical harm? That's just aggressive???

(11,573 posts)With his fundraising flagging, he,'s going to ask the DNC for a nice big chunk of that "obscene" money Hillary raised.
I hope they spit in his eye.

All those rallies! All those signs! All those chants! WHY ISN'T HE WINNING??

(1,359 posts)I think Sanders has become addicted to the attention, and is falling back on arguments that are obviously flawed and which run counter to his original message and supposed principles.
It's not going to be possible for people to view Bernie Sanders the same way they used to after all of this is over. For many, the bloom is off the rose.
the bloom is off the rose alright. All that's left is a flower with no petals, and only thorns.
