Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI'll post this here ...
I guess some are finally reaching the 7th Stage of Grief: Acceptance.
I'm noticing a number of veiled ... and long ... GBCW threads. They are relatively easy to spot ... they start with "Good Luck" or jump immediately into the horrors that will surely befall the Democratic Party, the U.S, and the World, IF {which, I guess, means they are not quite to acceptance} HRC is the Party's nominee ... and end with "And don't blame me {though I plan to stay home, vote 3rd-Party, write-in Sanders, or vote for trump} ... I tried to warn/educate/enlighten you!"
July 25, 2016 can't get here soon enough.
And, I'll go on and say it ... I just hope Bernie (and his supporters) has the maturity/integrity, not to break stuff on their way out.
Perhaps, with time, they will come to realize (in Sanders' case, re-remember), HRC at her worst, is orders of magnitudes better than any republican.

(31,849 posts)and in that Morning Joe moment, I suspect Bernie showed exactly why he has so little peer support and has accomplished so little to advance the platform he is campaigning on, during his congressional tenure.

(31,518 posts)I supported Hillary in 2008, but I knew from the start that I would vote for the Democratic nominee. There were a lot of hurt feelings when Obama clinched the nomination, but I don't recall the reaction being so nasty toward him. I don't expect to see people parading right wing talking points on this website. I'll be glad when the dust settles and these posters either get with the program or leave.

Like you, I hope that Bernie supporters will ultimately come together with the rest of us and understand that the goal is to keep Donald Trump (or any other Republican) out of the White House.

(31,518 posts)Until things are settled, I'm not even going to try to engage any Bernie supporters in conversation. I'll just be happy when the nomination is official and we don't have to read all the rw rumors and gossip about Hillary.

(31,849 posts)it's just using their bare hand to smear feces on the wall ... thinking the odd looks they are receiving is because they soiled the wall; not, for HOW they soiled the wall.
BTW, I wonder if that poster realizes the humor in his/her (no doubt) incarnation screen-name choice.

(90,714 posts).... so that post and its fans can live in infamy.
BTW, I have a feeling the poster is oblivious to humor in any form. I mean, "impure vessel"? (post 43)
Hm, maybe that's it. Impure Vessel
On review of the thread, though, I feel a bit more encouraged than I did last night. We've got a bunch of people fighting back.

(55,894 posts)Of course if I did an OP entitled that about Sanders, ala WillPitt, it'd get locked in a nanosecond.

Hekate
(90,714 posts)There's pushback from sane (and embarrassed) BS supporters as well as HRC Dems, but as you can see from the Recs "metamorphosis" is gaining new friends all the time.
The "impure vessel" needs impeachment before even being sworn into office. The sheer insanity, the trolling, the...

(46,051 posts)IMHO, some of these types are trolls. Probably some paid. Others are Naderites who would never lower themselves to call themselves Democrats.
The rest of Bernie's supporters are reasonable people who like Bernie's message. Those people will be with us for the general election.

(7,286 posts)too much bitterness for some to swallow
my other thought is some are toying with the idea of a mythical "purge" and their part in it. how do you want to go out? in a blaze of martyrs glory? do you want to fall on your valiant sword? or do you want to play the victim and claim banishment of the pure and innocent?
I also think we are going to see a long phase of "piece of shit used carsaleswoman" The low bar precedent has been set there.
Out of the fire and into the frying pan, so to speak

(3,733 posts)It's just noise.
I realize that Bernie supporters are disappointed. Some bitterly.
We're not responsible for their choices.
They ones who are really for what Bernie stands for will vote for Hillary.
She may not be as progressive as they like but if the Republicans
win in Novemeber it's lights out for any kind of progress and the first
thing to go is every issue Bernie has supported.
The Bernie or Bust crowd is really the
Anyone but Her crowd.
They don't give 2 shits for Bernie he's just a better anti Hillary than trump.
Screw them.
Be calm, Carry on.

(24,149 posts)This place has gone crazy. The admins are absent, the jury system is overrun with BSers who get away will anything and shut down whatever they don't like, and the boards have rightwing lies about HRC that come straight from the GOP!

(10,845 posts)I am sorry to say that but it is a weak policy. This place will become a loud and obnoxious anti Hillary site (even more so than now).

(15,696 posts)I reacted to one of those "good luck" posts. You'd think I would know better by now. But, damn it! I was a devout Puma in the 2008 primary season. That being said, I campaigned for Obama in the general and I think he's been a great president!
And referring to yourself as a "burr" doesn't actually make you one.

(42,862 posts)... are common themes.
The "my vote can't be bought" and "I have too much integrity" themes aren't quite as bad as the ever present "I hope the GOP wins, and then you'll be sorry" people.
I hope they find a more mature and constructive way to deal with their disappointment. What they're doing now certainly does nothing to further the causes they claim to care about.
Maybe it will pass.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)those writing that have a long and storied history of being wrong about ... well ... every damned thing.
Might I suggest ... drinking heavily? That would be more mature and constructive.

(41,989 posts)At the expense of repeating myself--I get it, I voted socialist or write in until 2000. I never voted for Bill Clinton, for instance. I understand. But I also understand not only the qualifications, but the symbolic power of Hillary Clinton-- as I understand how deadly, literally, republicans are. The world has moved on, and republicans haven't moved with it.

(16,104 posts)Worldwide, DU has a handful of participants who have spent the last year in relentless Hillary Hate, and now they want to tell us we will lose in November without them.
I have never believed a single thing they spout. Not gonna start now.
And, yes - DU does purge - or I would never have contributed one penny to this website! We all know "the dearly departed."
Soon, I hope to have a reason to contribute more to DU!

Some will turn out to be hopeless, of course, and will probably still be hissing incomprehensible hillhate when they're sitting around drooling in their wheelchairs.

(145,293 posts)As people watch Trump, I feel that many Sanders supporters including many Bernie or Bust types will come to these senses. Trump is even more scary than Palin.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)Yep ... palin was/is an idiot; trump is an idiot with an ego ... We can't have him anywhere near the nuke codes.
Hekate
(90,714 posts)She was/is as vain as a canary in a roomful of mirrors, resentful, and just not as smart as she thinks she is.
Part of Trump has never matured past being the playground bully in elementary school; I find it intriguing that he found a home in that military school his parents sent him to.
But besides his bullying ego Trump has had extensive money and power his whole life. He understands much better how to wield it. Whatever brains he has he uses to accrue more vainglory to himself -- and though much better educated than Palin, he is also not as smart as he thinks he is.
Neither of them has any empathy toward others. Neither of them has any power of introspection.
