(1,359 posts)He likes to pretend he hasn't been negative from the beginning, but I'm not fooled.

(5,648 posts)because if he ticks her off he won't be able to have a chance to have a hand in shaping the platform.
He will continue to push his issues for the same reason.

He lost that plot a long time ago, didn't he

(5,648 posts)It means that he will continue through the last primary.
It means that it no longer makes sense to attack Hillary when he is going to end up endorsing her.
It means he will continue to talk about his major issues and get as many delegates as he can so that he will have as much leverage as possible to shape the platform.
This is the pivot that we were all waiting form

(67,782 posts)....an issues oriented campaign. So what is he "pivoting" from?
He should pivot toward Vermont and retirement.

(481 posts)I think that statement was just dancing around that he is not winning the nomination even a noble goal he should be a leader in one of the protest groups and be a motivational speaker instead.

(2,074 posts)He knows he's lost. But he has a pretty large following, and he can't let them down. So he can't just drop out - he needs to give them the chance to play to the end of the game. I hope he knows that he will now have to show some real leadership and guide his followers towards supporting the Democratic nominee.

(9,494 posts)What a waste of money and time when we should be fighting Donald Trump. Bernie is being a real Jackass about this. I hope his support dries up and he looks like a fool in California!

(236 posts)Don't overlook the fact that Bernie has a very large staff to feed, travel to make, retirement wardrobe to acquire, all with campaign donations that could be directed to the general. Hard to give up all that campaign cash and the lifestyle it gets you. I noticed today on MSNBC Jane even finally had her hair styled!

(15,369 posts)I thought those were what his campaign was supposed to be about from the beginning?
Bernie is as quirky a candidate in his way as Trump is in his. I'm STILL shaking my head over his grandstanding visit to Rome at a crucial point in the NY primary, not to minimize my confusion as to why ANY Dem candidate would think it a good idea to bring Church into a political primary for State governance.
Now he's quirking ALL over the place. If he continues trashing Hillary or letting his surrogates trash her on his behalf, whether those surrogates be the BernieBros faction or Susan Sarandon and her ilk, he'll be lucky get into the convention at all, let alone have anything to do with the platform.
He can stay in as long as he wants. But he should immediately cease and desist with all negativity towards Hillary and all things Dem, stop his campaign's incessant whining about fraud (only, of course, in states he lost) and Dem rules in general, and quit fundraising on anti-Hillary themes or any theme that indicates that he can possibly win the Dem nomination. He can't.
What he should do is to concede graciously - whenever - and get right down to work to get Prez O's US Supremes nominee a hearing in the Senate. Then he should work hard to elect down-ticket Dems and to try to undo some of the damage that his campaign has done to Hillary. Then - and only then, IMO - should he get a place at the table to contribute to the Dem platform.
