Bernie Sanders admits he’s no longer calling the shots in his own campaign

http://www.dailynewsbin.com/

There has been a growing concern among political observers on the left that Bernie Sanders may no longer be calling the shots within his own presidential campaign. Advisors like Tad Devine and Jeff Weaver have been doing most of the talking lately, even as the increasingly hazy strategy has made less and less sense as Bernie has fallen further behind in the race. Has Sanders lost or vacated control of the decision making? Does that explain why his campaign has taken such a bitter and hostile tone toward Hillary Clinton, complete with nihilistic threats to sink the party on the part of surrogates? Bernie appeared on Face The Nation and appeared to acknowledge precisely that lack of control, or lack of interest.

Sanders was asked on live televison whether he agreed with the recent suggestion made by his top strategist Tad Devine that the campaign would need to reevaluate its future if it loses as badly on April 26th as expected. Bernie’s answer: “You have to ask Tad.”

This suggests that Bernie Sanders is not the one who will make the decision as to when his campaign will end, or that he isn’t familiar with his mathematical place in the election, and that Devine will be the one to make decision. The good news for those concerned about Bernie ceding control to his advisors is that Devine appears to be at least potentially conciliatory. The troubling news is that Bernie himself appears not to be interested in being involved in the process. This comes after Weaver recently suggested Bernie would try to swipe the nomination in a superdelegate battle even if he loses the popular vote.

So just who’s running this campaign?

I thought Sanders had lost control of his campaign in March. Now I can be sure that he lost control to guy who has made millions off of Sanders campaign.

Yes, it was truly a blunder to shift his campaign rhetoric from a nebulous revolution to one about qualifications. He cannot match HRC in the real world.

congressional and senate career. All talk no action. I don't think he ever thought he could be president, nor do I think he even wanted to be president, too much work. He just wanted the platform. I feel bad for those that have believed in him.

delegate system that they now decry? I had no idea until I listened to Nate Silver's April 18th podcast. Apparently, the system was fully implemented after McGovern's disastrous loss to Nixon, in '72. BTW, Nate, like Tweety & me, thinks the caucus system is undemocratic, but he's not crazy about the SD's either.

"I dunno, you'll have to ask X..."

The conventional wisdom adage, "Like campaign, like President", is just SO true. This guy would be a catastrophe in the Oval Office.

Do they even hear themselves?
