Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumIs Sanders Consigning His Supporters To The Political Wilderness?
His attacks against Hillary and the "establishment" in general (ie: on both sides of the aisle) seem to preclude his supporters ever working from within to change the D Party to their liking.
That leaves the badlands of the progressive third-party way, which has no chance of ever becoming a viable player in our political system. Why? Because there is little policy difference between what the Ds are offering and what any Sanders-inspired progressive third party would stand for. His real issues are with strategies and processes, and those differences are limited entirely to getting big money out of politics. Once you're past that single issue, there's little daylight between policy distinctions.
So what does success look like to these Sanders followers post-Sanders? I can't see any success whatsoever, because the only way for such a movement to gain ground is to split the progressive voting block, handing future elections to the Rs. THAT reality will keep informed Ds from moving to such a third party, and that will leave Sanders' supporters out in a political wilderness that has no viable chance at success.

(11,573 posts)not online zealots. They will support Hillary in the general.
The zealots have the option of the Green Party or forming a probably ephemeral splinter party.
The ratfuckers will continue to be the Republicans and Libertarians they've always been.
