Good LORD. The misinformation is BIZARRE. And even worse, the ability to reason -- beyond emotions and "beliefs" without evidence -- is completely absent.

(31,170 posts)I had to. I'm not physically up to all the hatefulness, it causes my pain levels to ramp up a lot. So i've mostly let others do the work of countering the worst of it. It was either that or leave DU entirely since it's open season on Hillary right now.

(30,058 posts)After listening to a RWer talking tonight I know where the talking points are coming, they are hoping for an indictment, seems like I have heard this before. The TOP does not want to run against Hillary.

(1,630 posts)I watched you out there giving it all you had! You laid out her plans and policies masterfully. Thank you for that. When it came down to it, they had very little to explain their rejection of her other than "gut reactions" and "feelings". Perhaps you have planted a seed of reason in their minds. It is hard to have a conversation with people who autonomically spout RW venom and conspiracy theories. You deserve major props for doing that and maintaining your composure and staying on message while doing it!
Thank you, especially for Hillary.

(1,788 posts)It's like arguing with republicans. You can show them direct quotes/evidence that says they are wrong, and NOPE. You can ask for quotes/evidence for their talking points they know to be true, and NOPE. I wonder if this is why they can"t believe anything negative about Bernie. They have a narrative in their mind and nothing will more it, and the same for Hillary. Who knows if anything was changed, but it is a helpful start when Bernie bows out.
You and Squinch soooooo rock

(24,149 posts)I guess I was ready to stay calm in the face of craziness. (As opposed to last week when I posted in GD about something non-political, and got jumped.)
Yes, it is a LOT like arguing with an adolescent!!
Thanks for your nice words. We're all in this together!
Walk away
(9,494 posts)Then we can watch some super crazy. Not so much because they don't already know that Hillary will have a blow out, but because the media is going to call the race. They may not be able to say the actual words but they are going to stop pandering to Sanders and his pathetic, empty threat surrogates.

(60,336 posts)Now I think they are here to make sure Hillary does not win.
They have to know at this point that the Bern has gone out of the chance for BS winning anything.

(10,014 posts)Because Sanders is winning the 'back end' of the primary. He also didn't think Hillary could have enough pledged delegates before the convention to win the nominations outright and the automatic delegates should support Sanders because he is a better GE candidate.
Tuesday will be telling about the 'back end'. If he sweeps the primaries (LOL) then he might start getting vetted.

(4,465 posts)About all the RW talking points thrown about here. I am not sure this is even a Democratic site now. Is this site being trolled in a major way? Is it Sanders supporters? Speaking this way of fellow Democrats? Surely not.....? I just don't get it.

(24,149 posts)Some are rightwing trolls, some are enthusiastic people who like to think their ideals make them "leftist," some are essentially rightwing anarchists who like to think they're "leftist" -- most have bought the rightwing lies...
(And I think there's another layer of hatred toward HRC, as a woman of age and experience, that flies under the radar -- something that can't be analyzed until 50+ years from now. The 30+ years of rightwing vitriol has just helped that along, a great deal.)
But whoever they are, they do not represent the majority of DEMOCRATS. The rules used to be tighter around here, but Skinner and Elad seem to have left DU to self-govern. If something infests us though, it becomes the government. The "status quo" of DU is "Poor me, I'm such a progressive lefty CARING and informed person, as opposed to those like HRC who are driven by greed, bloodlust, and Satanic Evil."
Hopefully when/if BS decides to make this about the issues he says he cares about and not himself (Nader, anyone?), the rules will restore GD Primaries to GD Politics. (Then you'll get to hear their misery as they complain about "free speech," on a private board.)

(11,243 posts)Many seem to put a ridiculous amount of energy into derailing legitimate debate. Some of them are so bad, I just straight up make fun of them. And it is not just GDP. GD and LBN are completely off the rails too.
I have no idea why I still post here, other than habit. I mostly stick to the groups.
