By Joan WalshTwitterTODAY 12:14 PM
When Hillary Clinton beats Senator Bernie Sanders in New York on Tuesday, which she is widely expected to do, a big part of the story will be a phenomenon I havent seen in the other four primary/caucus states Ive covered this year (all of which, as it happens, Clinton has won):
Many New York Democrats do not appreciate the Sanders campaigns attacks on their party. And they really dont like his supporters disruptions at Clinton rallies.
SNIP
.."for ordinary people who consider themselves Democratsand Ive met a multiracial throng of avid Democrats who are home health workers, nannies, bus drivers, teachers, waiters, social workers, and museum administrators at Clinton ralliesit is part of why he will lose on Tuesday, and perhaps lose big.

(51,020 posts)I foresee that any possibility of serving as a committee chair is poofing.
And there will be some consideration of rule changes for the Democratic Party making it stricter for someone like Sanders ever hijacking the party again.

(22,156 posts)before declaring your run for the Presidency. This was plain B.S., in my opinion.
As far as Congress, he will remain as ineffective as he's ever been, probably worse. I wouldn't name him chair of anything.

He's finally somebody.

(22,156 posts)he is jealous. I have thought that all along. He's a frustrated 60's radical and there aren't many left. He tried to get rich with his "writings" and when that didn't work out, he entered politics because that was easy. He could talk, talk, talk at people and get paid for it.

(9,148 posts)There will always be big $$ waving around for someone to have a crack at Hillary or the Great Solid Dem Party.
Problem is, 4 years from now, many of the young millennials today will have a new set of priorities.
Happens to every generation of new revolutionaries.
And its going to be rather difficult to give up on Hillary & the Dems by then.
She will be seen as a great MPOTUS & somehow being a radical will have lost the romance.

(55,894 posts)He would have MILLIONS in dark money coming in to help him along so he was on the ballot in November the same way Nader did.
The Republicans would make sure of it.
Cause it's so much easier to steal an election when there's a 3rd party candidate like Nader/Sanders on the ballot.
No, I cannot support your idea.

As kids, we'd just scrape it off with a rock & leave it to dry up in the hot July sun.

(4,640 posts)Not this Democrat. I think that really is the key there. Regardless of who we support at this moment, those of us who have been Democrats for years, will always vote FOR the Dem candidate, even if our person loses. One need only look at 2008 for that.

(1,630 posts)His campaign strategy of dividing and insulting Dems is not working.
He has absolutely failed to understand constituents in so many primaries. Dem voters value loyalty and service to others. Bernie demonstrates none of that. Any Dems who do not like his ideas or methods are apparently complicit in the corruption or just not bright or evolved enough to understand his greatness. That isn't how it works. He will get yet another lesson about how Dems feel about him and the sparkle pony he rode in on in NY.
He is due for another kicking.

The truth of your statement is about to reveal itself.

2016
NYC /HILLARY announcing her 2016 Pres candidacy:
I may not be the youngest candidate in the race, said Clinton, 67. But I will be the youngest woman President of the United States. And the first grandmother.
"She invoked the name of President Franklin Roosevelt on the island named in his honor, speaking in Four Freedoms Park which pays homage to FDRs famous 1941 speech extolling the freedom of speech and worship, and the freedom from fear and want."
SHE will do very very well in NY
BUT:
Someone else will not do so well:
