If Republicans were using the same math as the DNC to calculate delegates in NY
I thought this would be the best way to show the difference in the number of delegates that would be allocated using the same method for the same state. In states that tend to be red the delegate count is lower than what it would be if Dems were the winner.
New York
Democratic
2004 Dem Votes: 4,337,622
2008 Dem Votes: 4,804,945
2012 Dem Votes: 4,314,280
State Dem Votes SDV: 13,456,847
Total Dem (All States) Votes TDV: 194,294,533
Allocation Factor
((SDV / TDV = 0.069260) + (Electoral Vote Split: .0.056382)) * .5 = 0.062821
Base Delegates = Allocation Factor (0.062821) * 3,200 = 201 -> 197 (Revised)
Bonus Delegates = 50
Total Democratic Delegates = 247
Republican

Total Rep (All States) Votes TRV: 182,922,433
Allocation Factor
((SRV / TRV = 0.044860) + (Electoral Vote Split: .0.056382)) * .5 = 0.044860
Base Votes = Allocation Factor (0.050621) * 3,200 = 162
Bonus Delegates = 40
Total Republican Delegates = 202
