Vatican misspells Jesus's name on commemorative medals

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/vatican-misspells-jesus-on-commemorative-medals-211724035.html

It's a good thing Jesus is known for his forgiveness.

The Vatican recalled a series of commemorative medals after it was discovered that Jesus's name had been misspelled as "Lesus."

The levil, it seems, is in the details.

The error, which was tweeted by the Catholic News Service, can be spotted in the upper right side of the coin.

I was wondering what the phase meant, and Google search turned up this page, which gives the original quote in latin as:

Vidit ergo Iesus publicanum, et quia miserando atque eligendo vidit, ait illi, ‘Sequere me’.

... and searching for "Iesus", this Wiki page does give that as the nominative Latin spelling.

So it looks like the upper-case "I" was misread as a lower-case "L".
