Thieves Steal 5 Tons Of Nutella
Five tons of Nutella stolen: Thieves steal $20K worth of Nutella in Germany
German news site The Local reports that thieves stole over five tons of Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread this weekend.
On April 8, 2013, police in Niederaula confirmed that more than $20,000 worth of Nutella was stolen from a parked trailer at some point over the weekend.
The thieves weren't just hungry, they were thirsty, too. The police state that also missing from the same location were "several tons" of Red Bull energy drinks.
Two weeks ago, another trailer was robbed of almost $40,000 worth of coffee.
Nutella is manufactured by the Italian company Ferro and is the 5.5 tons that were stolen have a value of approximately $20,710.
The Local reports that there were a total of seven pallets full of Nutella.
