Bounty hunter issues cops his own ticket after he's pulled over for speeding

Lake man jailed after flashing phony badge, issuing homemade citation

A Lake County man was arrested on multiple charges after flashing a "private attorney general" badge and handing a Lake County deputy a homemade citation.

A Lake County Sheriff's deputy confronted Tippy Peek, a 55-year-old Clermont man, Monday evening about 6 p.m. during a traffic stop near U.S. Highway 27 and West Montrose Street in Clermont.

The deputy noticed the windows on Peek's Dodge Stratus appeared illegally tinted and the words "not for hire" scribbled in marker on Peek's expired vehicle tag, according to an arrest report.

Peek refused to give the deputy his license or insurance and instead flashed a badge identifying himself as a "private attorney general" and "bounty hunter." Peek told the deputy he does lawsuits about "law enforcement insurgence" and promptly issued the deputy a phony "warning" citation for "denial of right under color of law."
