Very nice encounter just a little while ago!

I was at a local strip mall on the way home from work. I was just getting back to the call when a young woman in her early 20's walked by, pointed to my "Obama 2012" bumper sticker and said, "I love your bumper sticker! Aren't you relieved?" Told her I am very much relieved and thrilled by the election results. She remarked that she takes a lot of shit from her right-wing family for being an Obama supporter and just had to compliment me. I told her I was glad to see someone young so engaged in politics and that it was great of her to support Obama despite the family pressure. She actually gave me a big hug and said, Thank you so much for voting!"

1. Utah plates

Good story, I saw a newish car in the grocery parking lot with Utah plates and an Obama sticker, pretty brave, I thought. (I'm in California)

I'm in Northeast NY and when folks around here see my bumper stickers, I more often get the opposite reaction... LOL. *sigh*

12. Yup, a Democrat won in my neck of the woods.

But with this redistricting, I don't know much about him, just that he got my vote. I got GOTV calls from Plattsburgh and Potsdam. When I worked for Scott Murphy in '09 and '10, I made those calls from downtown Glens Falls...

Also, with the redistricting, I lost my chance to vote against Chris Gibson. After what he said about Scott Murphy, I really wanted him to go down.

3. Here In The Mississippi of the Desert....

...I seem to be seeing more Robney/Lyin Stickers now than before the election. Came out of the grocery store the other day and there was a big Ford F350, clattering and stinking up the air with the aroma of diesel, and on the front was a "BYU" plate, an AZ plate on the back, and RR stickers all over the window. The driver was obese, pasty white, pale and frail (to borrow from Mike Papantonio).

I have also seen a lot of "Obama Sucks" stickers and today I got my obligatory "Obama is gonna get your guns" e-mail. It started off with some whining about George Soros (they won't leave that guy alone!) whereupon I hit "delete." (After replying that the only two presidents in recent history to move against firearm owners were Bush and RayGunn).

Is is just me because I get really pissed when people refer to our Pres as "Obama." Can't we include the title "President" as well since he earned it fair and square (twice, no less!).

7. Driving through the week before the election

I was amazed at how many Carmona signs were up. I hadnt been tracking AZ, I assumed he was a republican, there were so many.

14. In my very blue area, I've only seen one tiny Romney sticker. Few Obamas stickers.

More in the way of yard signs of all kinds, Ron Paul, Libertarian and GOP signs, and in other areas Obama signs in the yards.

One despicable Obama in whiteface poster in the window of a house covered with Mitt and GOP signs. Election day, they shut their blinds, removed all the signs except that poster. The last gasp of defiance to reality, no doubt.

Just before the election, I saw a number of Obama/Biden and Obamacare stickers on cars and even some veterans with wheelchairs and walkers with Obama signs on them. It was a thrill and we all smiled at each other.

6. I can empathize

Wife's cousin had an Obama/Biden sticker on her husband's car and it made Labor Day weekend family gathering a little tense. Republicans, like with all their petty nonsense, have to turn it into a federal case. Already bad enough I had to spend time with in-laws, but me and the wife let her cousin and husband know there's friends amongst the sheep herd of dim-bulb Republicans.

8. Driving our car with Obama logo on the back, I pulled up behind a car with 2 Obama bumper stickers

on the rear window. The driver also had a little sticker that said to "stop hatred". I looked to see who was driving and it was a white gentleman in his 70s - I'm guessing. And as I'm in very red territory of CA, I was thrilled to see this. Especially today two weeks after the election.
