Frank Rich on the National Circus: Why the Supreme Court Can Only Help Obama

Snippet

"So who would a repeal of Obamacare hurt most?
The biggest victims will be the some 30 million Americans who have no health insurance. The rest of us, who one way or another will keep picking up the bill for their medical care, will also pay a price. In the political arena, the court’s decision, up or down, is a win-win for Obama and a lose-lose for Romney, who at this late date hasn’t figured out how to answer health-care questions on the Tonight Show, let alone in a debate with the president."

Fascinating read on..

Pundits are trying to say this Is lose-Lose for Obama.Of course according to them Obama would never be president. The ones who
said he couldn't win the nomination,Reverand Wright would be end of him, giving more attention to PUMA'S,saying Mccain was such a
great candiate(the opposate of what they say now) and Palin as V was great choice.

theobamadiary that Chuck Todd is saying that very thing(lose-lose for Obama). Of course, he's wrong but will he be held accountable and Everyone ignore him when he speaks because he doesn't know wtf he talking about?

Freaking Orwellian Mediawhoredom.

will have a rallying effect. If the individual mandate is struck down, a couple of other important pieces go with it. Coverage for folks with pre-existing conditions will surely be gone. There are still some good things that may survive. I'm just perplexed why some "liberals" are calling for the whole thing to be dismantled.

I was tearing my hair out in panic the other day screaming WTFS! (well, not really but was pretty upset at the fucking Supremes and Pugs).

But we've all been down this hard road before and yes, the pundits Love to make huge Drama and they have been so wrong so many times before.

I have confidence in Obama - he will do all he can to rescue all he can and do what he can. Contrary to the haters I not for a minute think he has some evil agenda that wants to make more money for monied. What a load - these people are just so accustomed to the way dynasties like the Bushes think, and how they work they can't accept that Obama isn't 'one of them' afterall. And I am getting more confidence in the people - they are slowly slowly beginning to see the games the Pugs are playing with their lives.

Rachel Maddow had a segment on her show last night - about AHC. She said that As A Whole, Obamacare is not popular at all. But, if you break it down to the different parts: such as youths under parent's insurance, pre-existing conditions, people OVERWHELMINGLY approve - even Republican's numbers were way in the 70%+ approval. But the media has been such assholes about it all and not properly conveying the true messages of what Obamacare is about. I include All media in this, including MSNBC. They keep saying that it's Obama's fault that 'the message' isn't getting through. Well, fuck you. You are the messengers and It's YOU who aren't reporting properly (exception of Rachel, she's always been pretty straightforward).

embracing the most comprehensive social legislation we've seen since the 60's, they decided to run away from it?

The president is only one man. There are hundreds of folks in the Congress, and various democratic strategists who were equally responsible for "getting the message out" about the benefits of ACA. They all failed, and let the Tea Party nuts frame the narrative. As Rev. Al has often asked, where the hell were they? The president has been accused by folks like Bernie Sanders for "not framing the debate well". Well, Bernie voted for it. Why didn't he try to frame the debate as well?

I was listening to an NPR show yesterday, and one of the journalists said that the Germans are actually laughing at us. They think this is the most ridiculous debate EVER! The have universal healthcare, and love it. Of course, the big difference is that the 145 insurance companies who participate are nonprofit, but they boast a 4 BILLION euro surplus, and everybody's covered.

I hope we grow up someday and become a country that looks out for one another.

because the rw fascist side want the country to go to the Kochs' John Bircher teabagger Hell Hole and President Obama and We the People are fighting for our rights to have Health Care with Dignity.

The gops want to be able to gun down people in the street with impunity while taking away Medicare, and the right to work for a decent wage. Might as well throw the War Against Women in there too.

and as Alan Grayson famously said, they just want us "die & die quickly" cause they sure as hell don't want to pay for the necessary healthcare for us to recover from our gunshot wounds. That may be a bit of a stretch, but Stephanie Miller often says "this ain't my dad's Republican party". Hell, this ain't even Ronald Reagan's Republican party. They've gone off the deep end, and they're trying to take the rest of us with them.

blame President Obama when it's clear they are nothing more than celebrity rags on steroids..with exceptions like RM, Martin Bashir, Al Sharpton, LOD, & others who deal in facts and facts only.

The messaging could still be getting through and they would say it wasn't just because they can.

If the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare, how does Obama respond?
Just keep moving. The decision is scheduled to come down in June. The election will be more than four months away — an eternity in politics.

there are going to be more than a few people who are going to be thinking that there needs to be more NON FASCISTS on the supreme court.

Nancy Pelosi thinks it's not going to be overturned..6 to 3..we'll see how far she stuck her sweet neck out.

We must try and keep this law on the books, if possible.

Which is why, like you said, we should "amend" & "tweak" until we wind up with single payer, or something similar.
