That's Kabuki Theater, what folks are doing with the oil narrative. We know it's not the truth.

What is the truth, Obama was willing to get rid of employer contribution to social security, all to appease politicians representing the 1%. What social fabric?

Some things aren't negotiable.

Not sure what the good old "bad Obama the appeaser" meme has to do with this positive OP but hey, whatever gets you through the day. BTW DU groups have rules and you should probably read them before posting.

Welcome to DU.

P.S. There's also a list of the Group Hosts pinned at the top of the front page, just for your information.

The Obama admin proposal was to reduce employer contribution by half only for the first 5 million in payroll.

Those businesses who would be helped the most with this proposal were Mom and Pop shops...many whom are totally struggling trying to keep their doors open.

I do accounting for small businesses, and one has about 120 employees, and a payroll of a little under 5 million. That's paying 120 employees 41K per year.

He also proposed halving employer payroll taxes to 3.1 percent for the first $5 million of payrolls in 2012. The president also wants a complete payroll tax holiday that would apply when companies grew their payrolls by up to $50 million in a year by hiring new workers or raising the salaries of existing workers.

to your computer. To do this, right-click on the image in the OP, then click “Save image as” (or “Save as” or however your computer says it), then in the left-hand sidebar, click the location in your computer where you want to save the image. Then, if you want to, you can rename the picture by deleting the old name in the file name slot and adding a new name. Then click Save.

At Facebook, click “Add Photo/Video,” click “Upload Photo/Video,” click the “Choose File” button and find the image in your computer and click on the file name, and then click “Open.” Then on Facebook, click “Post.” Fb will ask if you want to say something about the image. You don’t have to if you don’t want to.

The Bush administration or Obama?

Gensler could increase margin on oil futures contracts. He could impose position limits on speculators. Obama could fire Gensler for failing to take these effective actions. But Obama is a bankster captive and Chicago school dupe.

Their argument: The president has NOTHING to do with gas and oil prices. Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly were the worst culprits.

Now, only now, the president has *EVERYTHING* to do with gas and oil prices!!!

And as for "Obama's defenders", we're smart enough to know that oil prices aren't set by the WH. What would you have him do? Start another war for oil? What "power" do you think he has, keeping in mind that he is a president, not a king? Perhaps a Chavez style takeover of the oil industry? And how would that work, exactly?
