(24,331 posts)That's sort of like saying "Sure, the Buffalo Bills have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl."

(4,452 posts)It might have been a right leaning poll but it's still an embarrassment that so many in PA would vote for that fool considering his history with the state.
They used to say that PA was Philly and the Burgh with Alabama in between. Well I live to the east of the Burgh and I am constantly dumbfounded by the number of people that consider the Frothy one a reasonable person or someone they would elect to public office.

(24,331 posts)They always think they can win it, and they're always wrong. The last time a Republican won PA, they also won California and 39 other states. It's not happening.

(36,418 posts)Sigh. Politics, I want some normalcy again . . . we can't have an election and be escalating toward new wars at the same time. Just doesn't work for me.

(11,461 posts)personally I know it is going to be a landslide victory for Obama, for the most part, the media putting
MI and NJ in lean makes it more dramatic than what it should be.

(31,902 posts)Because of Christie - but they aren't looking at the big picture.
Look at the number of voters in 2008, the number in 2008 of Rep and Dem voters.
Then look at those numbers in 2009 (Gov's Race).
The number of voters over all were lower in 2009 than 2008.
IF we can mobilize and get folks to the polls in Newark and Northern NJ - then it's just plain out Democratic. If they don't get there - then it only leans.
In 08 I was driving people around over the border in PA to get them to the polls (got up early, voted, then drove the 35 miles west).
This year I will get up early, go vote (first time my fiance will be voting so it's a big deal for this brand new American man ) and then we are both going to get the elderly and infirm to the polls in the Newark Area.
Most of the people I know from the 2008 campaign are back in full force after sleeping at the wheel in 2009.
Time to make NBC look foolish!
