He had the un-mitigated gall to be a Black man who beat two Republican candidates. Furthermore, he had the bad sense to be articulate, a faithful husband and good father. Moreover, he unpatriotically was able to stop our soldiers from being killed in the Middle East while saving us 30 - 50 billion dollars a month. It was bad form for him to kill Osama bin Laden seeing as how the previous Administration was unable to do it. In addition, he made the mistake of saving the economy from falling into depression. But worst of all, he took Jesus at his word and treated all people, including gays, women, latins, Blacks and whites the same as he would have wanted to be treated. It was clearly a major transgression for him to try to fix the broken health system in America. In addition, he foolishly gained the respect of our Allies, something the previous administration worked assiduously to destroy. Finally, he made the unforgivable error of trying to protect the environment and save the planet from climate change, something we absolutely CANNOT have. The Republicans are correct -- this madman MUST be stopped.

There is a single immutable fact that the GOP and its ideological drivers and financial policy makers (that is an INTENTIONAL juxtapositioning on my part...the way the GOP is run now, the $$$ makes the policy and the ideologues drive the bus...it used to be closer to the other way around in my mind)...they HATE the New Deal policies of FDR, anything that seeks to maintain or expand them in practice or in principle and have spent the last 70+ years trying to undo them and "take back" their vision of the country.

I do not discount one bit the hateful treatment and disrespect he has endured - he is so much better a man than I could ever aspire to because I have no doubt that I would have choked McConnell and Boehner more than once if it was me dealing with them and not President Obama...but things are ALWAYS like this for Democrats in the White House...my bigger gripe is that the Democrats do not repay the treatment even 50% when the roles are reversed.

The Republican Party would rather burn the country to the ground and "win" the argument than govern. Everything else is just outward projection of the inner nastiness inherent in their worldview.
