Barack Obama

Met with a rather large group of relatives and others today for lunch. A woman and her husband directly across the table from my daughter and I were expressing a lot of concern that Obama would be "hard to beat" because they had seen, "on Huckabee," that Obama had thousands of volunteers, a very organized election organization and a lot of campaign funds. And, of course, the "Hollywood left" was lining up to donate and campaign for him. The woman asked me what I thought. I just smiled and told her that I thought that was great because I am 100% for Obama and my daughter is volunteering for him. The look on their faces was priceless! Wish I had taken a camera. Needless, to say, there was an awkward silence and little conversation with them after that!
Oh, these next few months will be very interesting!

(4,309 posts)My daughter and I stepped outside to smoke a little while after that exchange. We just looked at each other and cracked up laughing. Sometimes you just have to laugh about it.

You would think my peace symbol earrings would have given them a clue. Oh, well!
