His approval rating among liberal Dems has never gone below 82% I don't think, but this jump to 88% is a very nice little increase

I don't understand what that's even SUPPOSED to mean.

The creativity and backflips that people will go through to deny the reality that they represent nothing even resembling a majority or even a sizable minority is incredible. If they put half this much thought and creativity into trying to get more liberal minded people into office, they would actually be able to do something about the world.

more gobble-dee-gook. I sometimes wonder if they're so vehemently opposed to the current "reality" that they've lost any ability to be rational. It's an amazing phenomenon, and as sad as it sometimes seems, it's kinda entertaining to watch.

He won more because more Democrats voted than Republicans - the 2008 electorate was 39% Democratic, 32% Republican, and 29% independent/other parties.

There's another poll taken recently that showed Obama leading Romney by 51-41 among independents - and 68-27 among moderates. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/01/17/1055631/-PPP:-President-Obama-opens-up-lead-over-Mitt-Romney

The narrowness of Obama's margin over McCain among indies - plus the discrepancy between moderates and independents polls like this one - only help to confirm what I have long thought: That many independents aren't true independents, but merely call themselves independents publicly only to vote straight Republican in the privacy of a voting booth.
