I would just like to say that I am somewhat disappointed by recent developments on the Democratic

Underground. Ostensibly, we are all Democrats and wish to advance the principles and values of Democracy.

I have seen many threads, of late, attacking Bernie Sanders. I have seen much hand wringing and teeth gnashing with regard to his chances of beating well, you know who, in the general election.

If Bernie becomes the Democratic nominee, which you and I have little control over as individuals, should we not support him, and to our fullest abilities. Our nomination process is a Democratic process, after all.

If our goal is to defeat the incumbent, should we not support our nominee with full force?

Just to make things clear, I support Elizabeth Warren. I will, however, do everything in my power to defeat this incumbent. I will do everything in my power to defeat this current abomination.

1. When Bernie becomes the Democratic nominee, no doubt, we will all rally around him!!

Bernie/Elizabeth or Elizabeth/Bernie 2020!!
Either way, they're stronger together & can't be bought!!
Jump on the Bernie Bandwagon & join The Revolution!!

4. Democracy is messy...

everyone hates this phase but it is true and this is one of the messy parts. This is the purpose and process of the primaries. Everyone is one edge ad it won't ease up without some major shift that may or may not take place. Everyone needs to make their own choice, we can try to persuade others to our preferred candidate but they still have to decide from a large field of choices.

The decision is made at the convention through the process - I'm on the fence about the electoral college - an thus the nominee is decided upon. It's fine to have a single candidate who appeals to the majority of the voters but that isn't what we have right now. It's going to be messy among ourselves as it is until the convention. When that is going on, we will need to rally around the nominee and go for it. The primaries are the sorting out process and since they don't all happen in a day, patience is advised. I have to wait until most of the states have voted so I have no idea who will be on the ballot by then. So the fairness isn't exactly evenly distributed. But this is what we have and we are bound to allow everyone to vote, making early cuts means I don't have as many choices as the earlier states, they decide that for me. And I'll be surprised if the nominee let alone primary candidates come to my state once before November. But I'll still be voting for us.
