Any way to quiet the trackpad click on MacBook air?

Friend just got one and the loud click's bugging her.

1. I've never heard of a loud track pad

Does she have another somewhere to compare. Maybe time for a trip to the Mac store.

She likes everything about her new Air except the trackpad click.
Hadn't heard of that myself so thought I'd put it to Du'ers.

Is your friend close to an Apple store?

Alternatively, she can call 1 800 MY APPLE. I always buy Apple Care, but if the machine is new, she ought to be okay to get Apple Care for the first year.

Well, conference for her and vacation for me. I hope to get out and explore Berkeley a bit more today, but not sure if she wil or will be in sessions.

7. Keep in mind that this modifies how your friend will use the trackpad.

They will 'tap' instead of push down and click.

I think it's easy to get used to. And once you do, get them to set Dragging with Drag Lock.

This makes it easier to move objects, type, and windows around:

Preferences > Universal Access > Trackpad Options > Dragging, with Drag Lock.
