Apple Support lying to customers, deletes/bans forum-users that reveal truth.

If you have a water-damaged Iphone, Apple Support will tell you that there is nothing that can be done.

That is a lie. There are people who can recover your data. See video above. By their own estimate they can help in 95% of cases.

When you post on the Apple Support-forum about that fact, your post gets deleted and you get a temporary ban.

The journalists tested that. They posted anonymously about what to do about a water-damaged Iphone.

Apple-Support said that nothing can be done.

"But there are people who say that they can help!"

"Nope, they are liars."

When asked for comment by the journalists, Apple declined to comment.

The "community forum" (all the posts displayed in the video) consists of responses from other users, There are no Apple representatives there, and no one there speaks for Apple. The only thing Apple does there, AFAIK, is provide the software and URL that runs the forum, and delete inappropriate posts. So if anyone there is posting lies (or inadvertent misinformation), it is other users, not Apple.

As for what constitutes an inappropriate post, I suspect the deleted posts actually provided the info about who to contact to try to get their data back, which Apple could consider to be advertising, and I think forum rules prohibit you from using it for advertising.
