Question about copy paste from news websites (the "read more" always appended)

If you go to this news story and copy paste to DU, you will get this:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A couple that fled Germany with their five children over fears they would lose custody for not sending them to school has asked a federal appeals court to grant them asylum in the U.S.

This is a very trivial thing, but why do many news sites do this ? To gain the traffic and get proper credit on boards like this ? Thanks in advance.

Most of those sites do not embed the closing link like the one in your OP. I actually consider it to be a convenience; otherwise, I have to toggle between tabs and manually do it.

The easiest is to block the host that is serving the JavaScript that is modifying your clipboard:

Add the following line to the bottom of your "hosts." file:
0.0.0.0 tcr.tynt.com

The other is to install a plug-in such as NoScript or GreaseMonkey to block the execution of the script.
