I gotta complain about this again: with this new DU I can spend 15 minutes trying to make a comment on my iPhone.

The windows won’t fit all my text; or, I can’t get my cursor to the right spot to make a correction; or, I can’t reach the end of my text to add or make corrections because it’s not visible. No matter how I try to enlarge or reduce my window, if I try to tap on the window to put my cursor someplace the window jumps all over the damn place and I can’t place the cursor. I don’t remember it being this frustrating or difficult before, and it’s not due to any reduction in my abilities or error-prone phone issues. The screen – jumping happens more often when I hold the phone in landscape; the running out of space, especially on the header, happens more often when I hold it in portrait mode.

I had the Font Size slider on five out of six. I've slid it back to three out of six. I'll see if that helps; but now all the letters are miniaturized.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see how that works out.

leave DU. I NEVER before had a problem with pop up ads here. This has started and continued even though my iPhone is set to prevent that. It is the only site where this happens. It is intolerable because when I click the x to close it the ad still opens. Sorry to leave but I can’t stand it.

Edit. Thanks to the nine kind persons who gave me a ❤️ heart. I’m leaving. Can’t afford to be a star member and hate the pop up ads in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. It’s been fun but don’t want to now pay for something that was free for many years. Not in this economy. Besides I do not have a PayPal account and never will.

Think. Again.

I am a star member (a very, very, low-end donor) and I use firefox on my phone, tablet, and laptop and although the occasional ad does slip through on other sites, I honestly have absolutely no problem with them on DU at all.

you can give more to keep DU up and running. It takes $$$ for the administrators to run and update the site.

that the adds on DU for non-members are not of the pop-up variety. maybe check with admins for sure, but pop-up stuff may be malware.

as to paypal, you do NOT need an account to donate here, they just use the system, you can pay as a guest or send a check. read the instructions carefully, no need to have a paypal account.

before "quitting a fun" place, might want to try to figure out if it is your system problem first.

Also - Your sneering and contemptuous reply indicates that you're a sneering and contemptible person. It's completely inappropriate, and it adds nothing of value to the conversation. Welcome to ignore.

Early on, I had problems with the new design on iPhone. They were probably related to the size fonts I use, but I switched to Skinner Mode and moved on without further problems.

That and the rest of the internet.

Upthread, you write about your poor eyesight. Big monitors let you blow things up in size as much as you could want.

I have been designing websites since the 90s. I am currently working on several. It frustrates me how much I have to restrict my graphics and text boxes because these things have to work on small phone screens in both horizontal and vertical directions. One can see so much more on a computer.

Good luck to you.
