New Computer/Win 7 Blue Screen
Just fired up the new computer yesterday, all was fine until I tried to connect my old computer to the new one to transfer files, using the Windows Easy Transfer Wiazard.
It started a transfer then I got the blue screen. I disconnected and managed to do a workaround whereby I will tansfer old files to my external drive, then transfer to new computer.
I have run malware malbytes and a virus scan.
Here's the error message after reboot and windows checks for solution:

(25,348 posts)Or rather there is something wrong with your old computer that is preventing it from communicating seamlessly with you new win7 computer.
The error *seems* to indicate the Windows explorer can't deal with some problem on your old computer and cant recover. Perhaps the file transfer wizard is too simple to deal with problems like (example only) a bad sector on the old computer's hard drive.
Before you try again i might do a a complete check of the old hard drive on your old computer. If it checks out. I might consider enabling file sharing on both and plug both(using NORMAL ethernet cables) into spare connectors on your router. and transfer that way.

(4,338 posts)Since the first blue screen, and the one time connection to the old commputer I have stopped trying to transfer files that way.
I found this with google regarding my errror message

Does this make sense? In other words, if I follow the advice of poster AlX3371 could that solve my problem?

(28,627 posts)otherwise wipe off the operating system - reformat hard drive and reinstall win 7. If not return computer to its maker!
