Buying my own modem?
I am going to switch ISP's because Comcast is faster than what I have now. They want ot know if I will rent a modem or buy one. Any suggestions on what brand modem to buy?

(20,878 posts)1. I bought a used one from my ISP for $15
It works, that's all I can say about it.
It is a TP-LINK modem and it looks like this:
I have a very very old modem that I use every day.
It is a WESTELL modem and the cost was $25.00 at the time. You can find one used on ebay.com, I know that for certain.
I bought it new almost 20 years ago!
