OK, be kind, patient and have sympathy for my inability to understand computer lingo.

I have a Samsung Galaxy E and am still learning how to use a computer. I would like to put a video onto DU but when I googled help regarding how to do it and I tried and I wasn't able to do so. There were step by step instructions on You Tube but I keep fucking them up. It is a video from The Castaways called "Liar, Liar" (for loser 45 of course). Please don't tell me to get an Apple since I have limited funds and time left on Earth (seriously it isn't worth the investment when it comes down to it...ask my doctors). I get easily frustrated with computers and there is no one I can go to for hands on help since I am stuck at home alone most of the time. Can you stick it on this post and I can somehow stick it on one of my own later? I do not know how to link, copy, cut and paste, etc.

Thanks!

I didn't know Debbie Harry covered it. I'm not surprised though, she's a real rocker.

Bmpm, there are many ways to post a video. DU software converts video links for you so the easiest way is to go to youtube and find the video you want. You browser will show you the url in the address bar.
Select the entire url (url is the address on the Internet where something resides. For youtube it starts with http://www.youtube.com/a bunch of unrelated letters and such.
Double click it to highlight the address.
Right-click on the highlighted address, select copy, come to DU and start your post.
Right-click in the body of the compose window (where we write our posts)
Select paste.
Write anything else you want but don't change anything in the address you pasted.
Submit the post and enjoy!

Sometimes people don't understand the technologically challenged.

Thank you!

ask as many questions as you want. Most of us geeks will happily talk computers all day and all night.

I even looked on the ones that were posted and they didn't either (with Gilligan's Island and Debby Harry).
Could my You Tube be different from other people's? I have a tablet and a touch screen and no mouse. Does that change things? How do you double click with a touch screen too?

The URL should then be highlighted. There will usually be a text box displayed with options to cut, paste and copy. Choose copy. Then, go to your DU tab/window. Start a new post or reply to an existing post. In the message text area you should press and hold your finger. Choose paste. The URL that you copied from YouTube (or wherever) should appear.

sorry - i was on my tablet last night lol - I should have put in both explanations but it's a PITA to type anything lengthy on the tablet.

if you long press right on the video a box should pop up with options within a few seconds (Long press in tablet terms just means hold your finger on something rather than tapping it). It will have an option to copy the URL to the video (Among other things). Then you can long press in the compose window here at DU and a small dialog box will pop up with "Paste" as one of the selections. tap that and you are done.
