Hello.

I am computer illiterate.

I have some questions to ask.

This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates because Windows XP and Windows Vista

will no longer be supported.

Will I still be able to use my computer ?

Do I need to change my search engine to Bing and would this solve the problem ?

I can not afford a new computer or Windows 10 program.

I have my computer set up for automatic updates.

Will my computer automatically update and change to Windows 10 ?

Any and all help will be appreciated.

But security may be hard to keep updated. Most antivirus programs will cease supporting XP.
Changing search engine will not help.
XP will not update to 10..

You can run a Linux distro on it and it will probably work fine for years.

What do you mostly use your computer for?

I don't make any purchases or pay any bills on line.

I don't know what Linux distro is.

Your computer will still function mostly going forward but websites will get more and more problematic going forward.

As far as a new computer goes...

You don't have to buy a new one you could buy a refurb for a very reasonable price.

For example

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883159269

That would likely be quite an upgrade for you and would put you back into a supported operating system for just over $100
