Email problem using Thunderbird...
Over the years I've used several programs to handle several email accounts and avoid webmail. When Eudora went south I tried several that had odd problems, like crashing or telling me they sent an email when they really didn't.
Been using Thunderbird for a few years now, and it works great managing 5 email accounts. But, once in a blue moon it forgets to pick up a Yahoo email, which might be more Yahoo's problem than T-bird's.
But, now, I find it did that great sin of not bothering to tell me it didn't send an email. Maybe this was Yahoo's fault, too, but I sent out an important notice about an event that apparently never went out. The newspaper claims they didn't get it, and I believe them. I just sent them a copy of it and they got this one.
Anybody else ever see this happen and have some idea where to start looking?
Yes, I will start asking for confirmations, receipts, and such, but this is very disturbing.

(2,805 posts)And never had such a problem. Are you absolutely sure you sent that email. Check your Sent folder and see if the missing email is in there. Maybe you never sent it at all? I'm just trying to figure out how an email could not of actually be received when sent.

And, yes, I did check the "sent" folder first thing. I'll get around to snooping around Yahoo to see if I can dig up any problems there. One interesting thing is that Yahoo has a spam blocker that stops stuff from appearing in webmail, but Thunderbird somehow bypasses it and downloads all the spam.
Ya wonder what else it's doing in the shadows...
