this is a computer and phone question
I am about to upgrade my phone. But I have a long text conversation on my current phone that I want to preserve. I tried to download an app on the phone that will offload text messages to gmail on my pc, but google play tells me that my device (phone) is not connected to google.
Any ideas what to do about this?

Are you trying to use SMSbackup as outlined in this link?
