What is the best router to buy
For two computers working off wifi one mac, one pc, streaming movies and such we are cutting cord with cable and going to internet only with Suddenlink, can't stand them but only company in area I am moving to in a few weeks.
We have apple tv, netflix, hulu, hbo go.
We left our router at house we sold because it was over ten years old it was a

Don't want to spend a ton of money but don't want something cheap either.

If you cut off cable as I have,a Roku box will give you a ton of free TV.

(37,457 posts)Did it say in the description that it's only for Linux ?
eta: Oh, the DD-WRT open source firmware. Just ignore that. That's only if you want to replace the stock Linksys firmware with DD-WRT. Yes, you can use this with Windows very easily.

(11,468 posts)So not sure if for that only. We have both apple and pc products in house.

(37,457 posts)I've never known of a consumer router that is Linux only.
From the description:
Minimum Requirements:
Internet Explorer 6.0 or Firefox 1.0 or Higher for Web-based coniguration.
CD-ROM Drive.
Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.
Network Adapter or Wireless Network Adapter.
This is my OLD router. It worked perfectly. I have used Windows for 22 years. I decided to go with D-Link this time around, but this router is extremely well rated.
