Does anyone have experience with having their disk run at 100 percent in Windows 8.1?

My computer has been experiencing this problem quite often lately and I have tried a whole bunch of things to fix it. Today my computer has seemed to not be having this happen but I thought I had it beat once before only to have major problems a couple of days ago and yesterday. Some of what I have tried include malware removal, using the hitman removal (this is what might have worked), and disabling the search in windows. This seems to be a thing as I have tried these due to suggestions I have seen on several websites discussing this issue.

I think that refers to speed. My disk is no where near full (I have over 400 gb left out of 600 gb)

between posting and the first answer, and it seems to have helped. I have been at 100 a little bit since then but nowhere near as often and I am not getting as bad of slowdowns.

Unless you have 32-bit Windows, which maxes out at 4 GB

You can also try to figure out what's eating all of your RAM - it may be one or more background apps that you can uninstall.

Good luck!
