Having computer problems after automatic updates in windows.

I'm here right now in safe mode as the computer refuses to give me anything other than a blank screen when starting windows normally. I'm not sure what happen except that the last thing I did yesterday was to let the automatic updates do it's thing. I don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions?

If you can get into safe mode you should be able to get to system restore. Which OS?

In Win7 just type system restore into the Start/Search box. And go with the suggested restore point.

If you are on win8 that is a bit different and I would have to look it up or maybe wait for someone that actually used it because it uses different terminology.

If the restore goes okay then you might want to manually do the updates one at a time. That usually works to get them all installed.

So far I have deleted and adobe file and the firefox exe. file as my kaspersky indicated that they were vulnerable. I'm using chrome at the moment and running a second scan.

Thank you for your help.

IF it is an update causing the problem then a system restore should do it. And it does sound like an update problem.

You get up to the four colored squares and then it goes blank? I can't see a virus doing that. It sounds like a graphics driver problem but if that were the case you would still hear the Windows sounds as things start up.

I've tried everything I could think of. Thank you for your help, you are very kind. I may even buy a new computer tomorrow; one that's also a tablet. That would be fun with my artwork! Then get this one fixed and I'll have two! Again, thank you.

Sorry, you couldn't get it working.

BTW, thanks for the reminder for updates. I do mine manually and I was about 2 months behind. Got that done now.
