Tabs Won't Close

I'm having a problem with tabs that won't close.

Using Windows 7, but Avast upgraded last night to be able to use Windows 10.

Clicking on x and right click close tab do not work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off your Avast and Windows Defender, and download another anti-malware application.

Try Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/v2b-new/

After you run that, we'll discuss the results. I'll look for a bug like you described for Firefox.

eta: Also try running Firefox in safe mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

How to start Firefox in Safe Mode

Click the menu button, click help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog.

Might be a problem with an addon or hardware acceleration also.

Only downloaded free version, but did not run yet; and the tab issue went away. ????
